This is a hybrid instrument, with an unusual shape and back arching, combining traits of the violin and viola d’amore. The small neck makes it easy for violinists to adapt quickly to playing it.
This instrument is well adapted to playing in modal fiddle styles. It has standard violin string length and spacing, with the size of a medium viola and the tone of a viola d’amore.
